‘Transfer Thirsty Thursdays’ provide a close-knit community for UT Dallas Transfer Students

Will picOnce a month, the Transfer Student Services hosts an event for the transfer students of UT Dallas to gather and socialize, known as Transfer Thirsty Thursdays. Transfer Thirsty Thursdays take place at the Pub and run from 5-7 p.m.; everyone can come and go as they please.

Since I am a transfer student myself, I was eager to attend my first Transfer Thirsty Thursday in January and it was a great experience! I was introduced to several other transfer students from UTD that I had never met before. We enjoyed delicious foods, such as dipping French fries in jalapeno ketchup, grilled tomato and cheese sandwiches and edamame. Yum!

Another awesome part was being at the Pub which is a relaxing and mellow mood; perfect after a long day in class. People were playing pool, Connect Four and other games. However, I chose to discuss the sports highlights that were airing on the TVs in the Pub. I cannot wait to go back for next month’s Transfer Thirsty Thursday!

If you’re thinking about becoming a UT Dallas Comet as a transfer student,  I highly recommend stopping by and saying “Hi,” at the next Transfer Thirsty Thursday!  The members of the Transfer Student Services office do a fantastic job of setting up the event and make sure everyone feels welcome. I am grateful for their efforts to organize these events to make sure the Transfer Student life is well represented on campus. If you’re a hungry and thirsty Comet transfer student, this is the place to be!
